The group started with no knowledge of Italian and have been working together for the last 2 years. We use published courses in both audio and book form.
Meets: Weekly, Thursday 10.30 a.m. at leader's home.
Costs: 50p a meeting towards tea/ coffee/photo copying costs.
4 members in group. No vacancies at present. We feel that anyone trying to join the group would have difficulty matching the standard we have now reached. There is therefore a short waiting list and assistance will be given for starting "Beginners 2" when there are sufficient wanting to join.
Which means "We speak a little" (Italian). Our Group started in 2014 as a beginners group. We worked through Buongiorno Italia text book (twice). To aid Italian conversation we write a short diary piece which we speak and then analyse the grammar etc. Consequently, we are no longer a beginners group, more improvers with conversation.
Meets: Monday 2 - 4 p.m. (or 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. subject to commitments) at members' homes.
Costs: None. Tea/Coffee provided by hosts.
5 members in group. New joiners would need to understand and speak sentences in Italian.
The members all have good conversational Italian and prepare a topic to present at each meeting, which is followed by a general discussion. Nothing is very formal and we normally end up having a general chat about anything and everything - in Italian as much as possible.
Meets: At members' homes

Group 2: 2nd and 4th Mondays, 10 a.m.
Costs: None - host provides tea, coffee, biscuits, etc.

in each group. Two vacancies in Group 2 at present.
When these vacancies are filled a waiting list will be formed and help will be offered to start a new group.
