Orpington u3a have a number of Interest Groups listed together under the heading of "Leisure". Click on a group that interests you to find out more details.
Cryptic Crosswords - We have 2 groups meeting in members' homes to pit their wits against the crossword compliers.
Curry Club - This group meets on weekday evenings at local restaurants serving Indian or other Asian food for the purpose of enjoying good food and conversation and making new friends.
Digital Camera - Open to photographers of all levels. The group is focused on enjoying photography and getting the most out of the hobby, not on competitions.
Learning to be Retired - This is a short, 5 week, course that runs twice a year. It is aimed at those of us who find retirement a challenge.
Lunch Club - This is a spin off from Town & Country lunches. Members meet in a local pub for lunch.
Meditation - Four different meditations lasting about 10-15 minutes each plus some discussion.
Members On Their Own (MOTO) - We have 2 groups. The aim of MOTO is to provide friendship to Members who live on their own.
Mindfulness - Mindfulness is about living completely in the NOW. The practise lowers stress, eases pain and brings calm.
Painting - Meets at the Fire Station. More experienced painters help the beginners.
Real Ale Appreciation - Visits to unusual pubs, clubs and breweries, travelling by public transport or private coach.
Sunday Lunch - Dining at selected local restaurants, with members taking turns to find and book restaurants.
Wine Appreciation - We have two wine tasting groups, meeting in members' homes.
