Card and Board Games
Orpington u3a have a large number of Interest Groups listed together under the heading of "Card and Board Games". Click on a game that interests you to find out more details.
Backgammon - This group meets fortnightly at the leader's home.
Board Games - Play more modern types of board game such as Wingspan, 7 Wonders, Ticket to Ride, Pandemic
Bridge - We have 4 Bridge groups: two larger groups playing Duplicate Bridge in local halls and 2 smaller groups meeting in the leaders' homes - a beginners group and an improvers group.
Canasta - There are 4 groups meeting in members' homes. They cater for all levels including a groups playing a variant called Canasta Hand and Foot.
Chess - This group is suitable for all levels, including beginners.
Cribbage - This is a small friendly group who are fairly competitive.
Mahjong - There are 2 Mahjong groups all meeting in members' homes.
Rummikub - We have 3 groups all meeting in members' homes with some catering for beginners.
Scrabble - The scrabble group meets in the leader's home and would welcome new members.
Upwords - This group meets at the leader's home for 2 hours once a month and welcomes new members.
Whist - This group caters for all levels and the leader is happy to teach beginners.
