This is a BOB group run by Beckenham u3a, but open to members of Bromley, Orpington and Beckenham. Badminton is a relatively easy game to learn to play and a very social game. It is a great way of getting in shape as it uses all the major muscles. It is never too late to start and can be played by people of all ages. The object is to hit the shuttlecock over the net. Racquets and other equipment are available. You will need to wear suitable shoes (such as trainers) with rubber non-slip soles.
Meets: 2nd Wednesday, 2.30 - 3.30 p.m. in the Bevington Hall at Beckenham Methodist Church. We sometimes also play on the 4th Wednesday if enough members wish to come.
Costs: £5 each per 1 hour session to cover the cost of the hall hire.
8 members in group. We have vacancies at present as the number of members who can come on the day varies.
